LabNOISE Laboratory

The LabNOISE Laboratory has been established at the Faulty of Management and Production Engineering in 2016 and was issued a positive accreditation by the Polish Accreditation Centre, in accordance with PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 “General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories” norm for acoustic research purposes.

The accreditation encompasses the following:

1. Workplace noise measurement in accordance with:
   1. PN-N-01307 – Noise – allowed noise parameter values in an occupational environment – measurement conduct requirements
   2. PN-EN ISO 9612 – Acoustics — Determination of occupational noise exposure — Engineering method
2. Machine and device noise measurement in accordance with
3. Installation, device and production facility noise measurement in accordance with an executive act of the Minister of Environment on the requirements for conducting emission size and drawn water measurements.
4. Road, railway and tramway noise measurement in accordance with an executive act of the Minister of Environment on the requirements for conducting noise or energy level measurements in the environment by the road, railway, tramway, airport or seaport administrator.

The laboratory has noise meters, acoustic analyzers, a meteorological station, an anemometer, an omni-directional sound emitter, a thermal camera and an acoustic camera at its disposition. Moreover, the Laboratory measures and studies the following:

• sound-absorbing and sound-isolating screens and enclosures
• residential and public building noise
• engineering rooms devices noise (heat substations, ventilation systems, crane installations, transformers and other technical equipment of a building)
• noise source acoustic modelling

Experimental, scientific and research work in the broad science of acoustics are also conducted at the Laboratory for the purposes of:

• teaching (lectures, tutorials, projects, laboratory work, courses and diploma theses)
• prototyping, development and implementation research
• work conducted by scientific and research institutions, industry and local government units
• consultations and expert opinions
