Grand opening of the Faculty's new premises

Thursday 22 September saw the grand opening of the new premises of the Faculty of Organization and Management, located on campus B of Lodz University of Technology in the modernized building B17. The new premises will be called 'Business Zone' and, as Dean Prof. Agnieszka Zakrzewska-Bielawska emphasises, "it will be a place of productive work where, in a friendly atmosphere, we will celebrate the Faculty's many subsequent successes".

Along with current and former employees of the Faculty, the event was attended by almost 200 people from all over Poland, including: the authorities of Lodz University of Technology, authorities of partner universities representing management and quality sciences, members of the Committee of Organization and Management Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, numerous companies cooperating with the Faculty. Also present were the Governor of Lodz and representatives of the Marshal Office of Lodz.

Participants in the ceremony were able to visit the new premises of the Faculty of Organization and Management in person. With an area of 3,270 m2, there are 17 modern teaching and seminar rooms, partly furnished by companies cooperating with the Faculty, 2 conference rooms and 24 offices for research and teaching staff, as well as a Dean's office and 20 rooms for administration. The building was revitalized as part of the project 'Deep thermo-modernization of the Faculty of Management and Production Engineering building B-17 of Lodz University of Technology', co-financed by the European Union under the European Social Fund. The total budget of the investment was PLN 18.1 million, of which more than PLN 5.7 million was provided by the Office of the Marshal as part of EU funds.

The opening ceremony of the Business Zone was a celebration of the community of the Faculty of Organization and Management at TUL, but also an opportunity for the management and quality sciences community from all over Poland to meet and discuss with business representatives. We hope that the new location will be a friendly and inspiring place for both students and employees. After all, the Business Zone symbolises innovation, openness and interaction with the socio-economic environment."
